Paint brands and product lines
This section is deliberately incomplete. We publish a brand or product-line page only once we have verified its details against the manufacturer's own pages — not from a review site, and not from memory.
What we have verified
Sherwin-Williams — we hold the official colour deck (colour number, name and RGB) and use it for every Sherwin-Williams swatch on this site. Their individual colour pages also publish LRV, which we use where we have retrieved it.
Benjamin Moore — their colour pages publish LRV but not RGB, so we hold verified LRV for several colours and are not yet rendering Benjamin Moore swatches. A swatch without a manufacturer hex would be a guess, and a guessed swatch is worse than no swatch.
What we have not verified
Behr, PPG, Valspar, Farrow & Ball, Kelly-Moore and Dunn-Edwards product line details are not yet confirmed against manufacturer sources. We are not publishing pages for them. A brand page built on unverified product data is the kind of content this site exists to be an alternative to.
Where to buy
Sherwin-Williams sells through its own stores and a separate professional channel. Benjamin Moore sells through independent retailers. Behr is sold at The Home Depot. Availability and pricing change constantly, so check the manufacturer's store locator rather than a third-party list.
Colour data
We publish 1517 colours with manufacturer hex and LRV as an open dataset: colors.json. Methodology is on the colour methodology page.
