153 colores clasificados con subtono neutro. La clasificación viene del ángulo de matiz en OKLCh del hex publicado por el fabricante, no de una impresión: solo afirmamos un subtono cuando el croma es lo bastante alto para que sea real.

Qué es un subtono, exactamente

Un subtono es el leve sesgo de matiz que queda dentro de un color casi neutro. No es una impresión: es un ángulo medible. Clasificamos cada color por su ángulo de matiz en OKLCh, un espacio perceptualmente uniforme donde pasos numéricos iguales se ven como pasos visuales iguales, cosa que HSL no cumple justo en el croma bajo donde viven los neutros.

Solo afirmamos un subtono cuando el croma es lo bastante alto para que sea real. Por debajo de 0.012 la respuesta honesta es "prácticamente neutro" y eso es lo que decimos. Entre 0.012 y 0.035 el subtono existe pero es sutil. Por encima, es claro.

Por qué el subtono decide la compra

Dos colores con el mismo LRV pueden verse completamente distintos en la misma pared si sus subtonos van en direcciones opuestas. Es la razón número uno por la que alguien pinta una habitación entera y descubre que su gris "se ve morado": el subtono estaba ahí desde el principio, pero la tarjeta de muestra no lo decía y la luz de la tienda lo escondía.

El subtono se hace visible sobre todo por comparación y con luz difícil. Una habitación al norte, con luz indirecta y fría todo el día, es la que más lo delata. Por eso cada página de color de este sitio muestra sus vecinos más cercanos en LRV: el subtono se ve al comparar, no al describir.

Cómo usar esta lista

Los colores están ordenados de más claro a más oscuro. Elija primero por el LRV que necesita la habitación y use el subtono para decidir entre los candidatos que quedan. Y pida siempre una muestra física: ninguna pantalla reproduce esto con fidelidad.
